Equine-assisted psychotherapy brings the therapeutic process into relationship with horses, creating opportunities for connection, reflection, and growth beyond the traditional therapy room. Through interacting with horses, clients can explore trust, communication, boundaries, and relationship patterns while developing greater awareness of their emotions and how they respond to them. The active, embodied nature of the experience can support emotional regulation, deepen self-awareness, and offer new ways of relating to both oneself and others.
A Different Kind of Connection
Equine-assisted psychotherapy can support both self-discovery and personal or professional growth, as well as deeper therapeutic work during challenging periods of life. Sessions can provide space to explore identity, relationships, confidence, communication, and boundaries, while also addressing concerns such as anxiety, trauma, grief, eating disorders, and difficult life transitions. The work is individualized, allowing the experience with the horses to unfold around each person’s needs, strengths, and therapeutic goals.
